If you are into some heavy psych doom occult feels, you should check out Dark Hedonistic Union (DHU) Records. Created in 2014, this one-man label in the Netherlands has been increasing its volume of limited and special edition releases every year. As many underground DIY-style labels sprout up from a passion of wanting to see the bands they love grow, DHU has emerged, championing bands such as Year of the Cobra, Disenchanter, and Youngblood Supercult. DHU is about taking bands flying under the radar and giving them something physical to release.

DHU released 16 albums in 2020 – all on vinyl – which is quite impressive for a 5-year-old label. And there doesn’t seem to be any slowing down, with 10 releases already planned for 2021. When asked how the label feels about its future, owner Robert Black replies that he feels really good about it with the upcoming roster of bands and their killer releases: “My goal is to do what I always did: A DIY label serving as an altar for music. Dedicated to a pulsating underground that is filled with gems that rarely if ever see the light of day.” Most importantly, he adds, “Listen to DHU Records & Hail Satan”.
